What happens in Europe doesn’t stay in Europe. EU policies directly impact forests like the Amazon, where deforestation continues to threaten ecosystems, communities, and the global climate.
At Aktion Amazonas, we work to stop this. The EU Deforestation Regulation, the law designed to stop products linked to deforestation from entering the EU market, is a crucial step forward, but it is now at risk of being weakened.
We cannot let this happen.
Sign the petition below and help keep #HandsOffNature.
WHY DOES IT MATTER?
Every minute, 100 trees are cut down to satisfy EU consumption, pushing our future dangerously close to a tipping point. Forests filter the air we breathe and the water we drink, acting as natural sponges that absorb polluting substances like CO₂. Scientists agree: protecting forests means protecting people. But despite their vital role, they continue to disappear at an alarming rate.
It doesn’t have to be this way.
Europe has a historic opportunity to change course through a forest protection law (the EU Deforestation Regulation), a landmark law that could save nearly 50 million trees just in its first year by removing products linked to deforestation from the EU market.
Destructive industries and foreign interests want to weaken this law to keep doing business as usual. Many European politicians are giving in. They are ready to cut rules designed to defend nature, our climate, and our health.
Sign now to save the EU forest protection law, defend trees, and protect the health of future generations. If you’ve signed the petition, thank you!
