CONNECTIVITY APPROACH
Our approach to conserving the Amazon and surrounding forest ecosystems is grounded in the principle that lasting protection depends on landscape connectivity.

Isolated forest fragments cannot sustain biodiversity, ecosystem functions, or resilient communities over time.
To secure connectivity, we establish, protect, and sustainably manage Territorial Units - including protected areas and Indigenous territories - and promote sustainable land use and resource management in the landscapes that link them.

Through this integrated approach, we strengthen ecological resilience and help create the conditions for long-term coexistence between people and nature.
Action Pillars
Our efforts to protect the amazon rainforest are grounded in three core ACTION pillars:
PROTECTION ACTIONS
RESILIENCE ACTIONS
EMPOWERMENT ACTIONS
Designed to strengthen the ability of Indigenous Peoples and frontline communities to defend forests and territories against immediate threats, build long-term climate resilience through secure livelihoods and restored ecosystems, and transform the systems that create these threats by amplifying knowledge, voice, and accountability from the local to the global level.
Rights and gender at the core
guided by human rights and gender equity, grounded in participation, non-discrimination, and accountability. We recognize communities’ rights to water and natural resources, the right to be heard, and Indigenous Peoples’ collective rights to territory, self-determination, and full involvement in decisions that shape their lives and environment. Equity means that those living closest to challenges and opportunities lead the way - with their knowledge respected, their voices amplified, and their leadership strengthened in line with the principles of Locally Led Development.
