PURPOSE
Rooted in the rights, knowledge, and needs of local forest communities, our efforts safeguard nature while securing sustainable livelihoods and strengthening community control over territories and natural resources.
Our vision is to protect and maintain the largest possible area of tropical forests in South America, preserving their ecological functions and strengthening their resilience to climate change, thus contributing to sustainable and regenerative development for the benefit of society and to the global fight against biodiversity loss and climate change.
With a strong focus on the Amazon and surrounding ecosystems, our mission is to build connected and resilient landscapes at a regional scale by working hand in hand with Indigenous Peoples and local communities - linking local action with global change.
We do this by strengthening the capacity of forest communities to defend and sustain their territories, restore degraded and deforested ecosystems, and empower people to act - locally, regionally, and across the globe. We also advocate for and pilot sustainable models of agriculture, forestry, and land use in productive landscapes, while contributing to the establishment of new protected areas.
