From the Amazon to Europe, the struggle to protect forests is deeply connected. Decisions made in global markets, boardrooms, and parliaments shape the realities faced by Indigenous and rural communities on the forest frontier. Across the region, civic space is shrinking, environmental defenders face increasing risks, and powerful economic interests continue to drive deforestation.
At Aktion Amazonas, we empower people to stand up for the Amazon - building knowledge, voice, and accountability that turn local action into global influence through science, advocacy, and education.
We strengthen civic space and leadership by training communities in advocacy, rights, and governance, while also engaging in global advocacy from Denmark and Europe. We support accountable community organizations, facilitate dialogue with authorities, and connect local voices to international platforms. By promoting inclusion, transparency, and participation, we help communities defend their rights and challenge global systems that drive deforestation.
We raise environmental awareness
through education, youth engagement, and strategic communication - in South America, Denmark, and across Europe. We train youth leaders, integrate environmental education into schools, and run campaigns that inspire people to value and protect forests. By building bridges between consumers, companies, and forest communities, we promote responsible choices and fair supply chains.
We harness science and technology to protect forests across the Amazon. Through satellites, conservation hubs, and partnerships with governments, we generate real-time data on deforestation and biodiversity loss. By making this information accessible, we strengthen accountability, support legal action, and inform decision-making at local, national, and international levels.
