The Amazon rainforest in Bolivia is in deep crisis . Forest fires, illegal logging, agriculture and mining are some of the forest's biggest threats, which, together with climate change, are affecting the forest and its inhabitants - both humans and animals.
The forests of northeastern Bolivia are some of the most lush forests in the Amazon, but they are also the areas most exposed to forest fires and interest from outside actors. The forest is often of interest to investors in land development and logging for its material value, but with the game cameras it is possible to prove that the forest contains a lot of life and wealth .
Together with ACEAA, members of the local community in Panda set up game cameras in the forest. They show the images and videos to municipal institutions so that they too have an interest in protecting the forest areas and not dividing them up for production.

"The cameras also provide a form of security in the forest," Misael.
Our colleague, Sandra, from our partner organization, ACEAA, spoke with Misael, who lives in one of the local communities in the Amazon in northeastern Bolivia.
He says that not only do the cameras help document life in the forest in northeastern Bolivia and thus provide more knowledge about the animals that local communities live with, but the game cameras also help poachers think twice before going hunting. Thus, the game cameras are part of the fight to preserve the forest's fauna and richness.
In addition, the images from the cameras are also used for education and information at the local and municipal level. Awareness of life in the forest can be crucial for the development of the forest, its use and how it is viewed. The wildlife cameras are therefore an important element in the fight to preserve the Amazon. You can also support.
