RESTORATION ACTION

In the Amazon, centuries-old forests are vanishing at alarming speed - degraded by fire, land grabbing, and extractive industries, and further weakened by climate change, longer droughts, and more frequent wildfires. As ecosystems collapse, so do water sources, wildlife, and traditional knowledge are all at risk just as the forest loses their ability as climate regulator.

At Aktion Amazonas, we work with forest communities to restore degraded lands, revive ecosystems, and recover native biodiversity.

Reforestation: We train communities to collect seeds, run nurseries, and replant degraded areas to restore biodiversity and store carbon.

Water management: We reforest catchments and build micro-dams and swales to improve water quality and recharge groundwater.

Species rescue & rehabilitation: We support community vigilance and monitoring with drones and camera traps to safeguard jaguars, otters, and rare plants.
