BIODIVERSITY ACTION

Securing ecological integrity

From degraded habitats to thriving ecosystems, restoring biodiversity is essential for long-term forest protection. Across tropical forest landscapes, habitat loss, fragmentation, and human pressure continue to drive wildlife decline and weaken ecological integrity.

At Aktion Amazonas, we work to restore and reconnect ecosystems by combining scientific knowledge, community-based monitoring, and targeted conservation action. By regenerating habitats, reducing threats to wildlife, and strengthening long-term stewardship, we support the recovery of species and the resilience of connected forest landscapes over time.

We strengthen biodiversity knowledge through species monitoring (camera traps, participatory mapping, and ecological observation), generating data that informs conservation planning, habitat connectivity, and adaptive management.

We restore ecosystems and strengthen habitat connectivity through natural regeneration, active restoration, and community nurseries, enabling species movement, genetic exchange, and long-term ecosystem recovery.

We support human-wildlife coexistence through non-lethal conflict mitigation, improved livestock management, and community-based protection strategies, ensuring long-term species survival in shared landscapes.
